App Configuration

In Power BI console https://app.powerbi.com/home .

Go to the Bi for SCCM workspace and click on the Datasets tab.

Click the “...” and select Settings.

Expand Gateway connection, click the arrow under actions.

Click Add to Gateway to the right of the Web gateway.

Copy the URL and paste into the Data Source Name field.

Check the box beside Skip Test Connection. Click Add.

Note: It is very important to skip the test connection .

Add the second data source. Click Add to Gateway to the right of the SQLServer gateway .

Copy the Database name into the Data Source Name field.

For Windows authentication enter a username in the format of domain\user and password for an Active Directory user that has read access to the SCCM database. A service account is recommended (see Appendix A - SCCM DB Reader).

You may also choose Basic authentication and enter a SQL login (see Appendix A - SCCM DB Reader).

Click Add.

Expand Gateway connection, click the arrow under Actions.

In the top Maps to dropdown box select the URL

in the bottom Maps to dropdown select the SCCM database name.

Click Apply.

Expand Scheduled refresh and select a refresh frequency.

Note: Most customers refresh data once per day however the limit is eight refreshes per day.

Click Apply.

Click on the BI for SCCM workspace.

Go to the Datasets tab.

Under Actions click the Refresh icon.

You have now successfully installed BI for SCCM. Refer to the Administration and/or User guides for next steps.
